I had my interview with Malacca-Manipal College today. It went with a breeze. 5 persons per group for the interview, and all we had to do was to talk about ourselves for 1 minute. It is only the second time MMMC actually held interview for their future students, and it is nothing more than just a formality. There is "pass" or "fail" for the interview. Everything would depend on our A-Level results. With JPA, it must be above 12 points (at least 3 B's). I am really tired now. We left for Malacca at 8 a.m., ate our lunch at Mahkota Parade at 12 p.m., and the interview started at about 2 p.m., with me being in the fourth group. We reached INTEC at about 7.10 pm., I think.

I've got nothing to write for now, but I'll leave you guys with this excerpt from my friend's entry on her blog, regarding the talk by Yvonne Ridley she attended last Sunday at UIA:

after the talk there was a Q&A session...a man got up and asked 'How can we as normal citizen of the world, contribute to the cause of the world. We have no power. We have no control in the government. So, what can we do??'

I thought this was a very good question..its sumthing that everyone thinks about but never thought to ask..true or not?

this is her brilliant answer:

she said, " The people, the rakyat, is like a lion. The government or megapowers of the world is like a 'lion tamer'. Imagine, u are a member of the audience. U are watching the lion tamer make the lion do tricks at the circus. Once in awhile the lion tamers whips his huge whip at the lion to control it. U know the even though the lion tamer has the whip, the lion can suddenly attack the tamer at any time. And the lion will definitely be stronger and can kill the tamer easily. You know this. Everyone in the audience knows this. Even the lion tamer himself knows this. Except the lion... And.. until the lion can realise this, he will always be under the control of the tamer. "

good luck on your A levels. i m sure you did well in your interview.

i guess the person who asked yvonne ridley in borned muslim. what a shame. a good question indeed but directed to the wrong person. i am not saying that miss ridley gave the wrong answer or she was qualified to answer but the thought might be playing in her mind.

shame to malaysian 'slaves'. we were born free but we made ourself slaves. as muslims, the only person that have to be scared is our Creator. Scared that we might displeased Him. One of the doa ma'thur, often recited by our Beloved Prophet, "Allahumma inni a'uzubika minalhamniwal hazan....wa a'uzubaka min ghablati daini wa kohririjal." The last part we are asking to be free from discrimination and debts, which indirectly saying that to be free from be slaves to human and we belongs whole to the Creator. Why must we feel so timid and disable? Learn from the life of the The Great Prophet Muhammad pbuh. From a single a Muslim who later converted the whole Hejaz within 23 years.

What i am saying is that the Malaysian borned Muslim still do not understand their role and need to be reminded by a newly reverted sister. I could stll remember Datuk Dr Siddiq Fadhil said 10 years ago in tha hall of Dewan Bahasa, Kuala Lumpur,"Seorang Muslim adalah bebas merdeka dan tidak takut melahirkan kebenaran. Beliau tidak dimiliki oleh sesiapa melainkan Allah. Hanya hamba saja yang akan mula melakukan kebaikan setelah disebat dengan cemeti."

A good muslim know their role. The Iman will drive him to do good, together with knowledge to differentiate waht is good and what is wrong. To strenghten the Iman, tahajjud and zikr might make it stronger but most important of all is your doa, asking God what you want to be, a good Muslim? a Soleh person? an Abid? or Ansarullah. You ask, and insya Allah He will grant!

(maaf kerana menulis panjang dan agar berterabur, semangat membaca waktu pagi ;).)

Ikelah said it all. But Having heard what Yvonne said, I hope we will be the generation of jihadis and da'ies, perhaps in our own way, but nevertheless, have the courage to put what's right first before anything else. Good luck for the interview! =)

Beautifully said by iKelah. May Allah guide us all, ameen, so that we will be true slaves of Him and no one else. I admire Sister Yvonne's enthusiasm and seemingly boundless energy, mashaAllah.

Yvonne, never ceased to amaze me . She is an epitome of a human being given the 'light' from Allah swt.

Very interesting comment by ikelah. I believe that's when a Muslim would finally attain his goal, of pleasing none but his Creator.

Some interesting thoughts you have. I somehow stumbled upon your entry on the late Prof Muhammad's proof of the existence of God.
